Character Name: Sala Shane

Character Info: Charlotte is a canon where teenagers gains (slightly imperfect) special abilities, and although it's not confirmed, it is likely that Sala might have lost her sight due to abuse of powers, as a side effect to power abuse is exactly a loss of sight. She says that her blindness is a form of repentence.

 

Sala is a woman from England, who, when she was young, she had dreams of being famous, and she took people for granted and hurt others to get it. There was a time when she was popular in Japan as well, and was called a social phenomenon, and a person of the times. An immense amount of money moved, and people started to look at her differently; in a bad way. She caused a lot of trouble for her family through it; her little brother was kidnapped for ransom, for example. However, she had an (unspecified) accident which would lead to her losing her eyesight, and she reevaluated her life and created ZHIEND, with the intentions of it being her "end". She never intended for it to be a popular bad, but it became very popular.

 

She goes to Japan for a concert and sneaks away from her manager to eat "modernyaki" (which really is okonomiyaki with noodles in it) and is annoyed that no one knows what she's talking about. Otosaka Yuu, the main character of Charlotte, meets her on the street and she demands he help her find a place to eat, chich he does. She helps him out with his personal problems (such as his empotions over the death of his sister) and Yuu brings her to the big brother of a friend of his, who is institutionalized, with the hope that she will get through to him, because he lost his mind due to scientists experimenting on his powers. When Sala sings to him, the brother has a lucid moment for the first time in years. Once Sala and Yuu has returned to the city, Sala's manager finds her and drags her back to the hotel. The next day, ZHIEND has a concert, to which Yuu and his friend goes to, which he told Sala the previous day. During the concert, Sala performs a new song that has never been released before, called "TRIGGER", among other songs.
 

Personality: Most people that knows her might say that Sala is a little bit crazy. After all, she's a blind woman who is very famous, who goes out in the street and spouts random English, eat random food and who decides she likes people way too easily, and she takes her status as a skilled artist and her making up random words.

While she was very uncaring about others in the past, turning blind made her reevaluate her life, and she became a much more levelheaded person. Or a sort of levelheaded person, at least, as she still is not the calmest individual. She's not exactly all about logic. Although she is blind, she doesn't let that limit her, and she tries to live life while repenting for her past transgressions, but she still lives a relaxed, easygoing life. For example, she doesn't care about any sort of special diets. She loves food after all, and can eat non-stop if she gets the chance. She loves any kind of food, be it normal combinations or weird combinations. In foreign countries, where she's not perfect with handling the language even when she knows a lot of it, there are times where Sala doesn't know the actual name of some dish or other, so Sala makes them up with words that she knows. When she makes names up, they are through associations, which are not the most normal kind of associations, but they can be completely random and make no sense.
These days, Sala has become a very kind and caring woman, who is calm and composed. She is also very sensitive to other people's feelings or state of minds and, despite ber blindness, she can detect how people feel by the sound of their breathing and the nuances in their voice. To Sala, it doesn't matter how long she's knowns someone. If she judges someone a good person, she might decided to instantly like them, and cares for their well-being. When someone she likes is happy for something, she becomes equally happy, and when they have something that they find important, Sala thinks it's just as important to her.

Although she is calm and caring, she still has random outbursts of words, like "Jesus!" or other things, which tends to come out in a very dramatic manner. One instance where she had a dramatic outburst was when she was looking for "modernyaki" and no one knew what she was talking about, even though she was in Japan. Granted, people didn't know what she was talking about because it's okonomiyaki and nor modernyaki, but she didn't realize it until she heard the name. Sala causes a lot of greif for her manager and the other band members by the carefree and free attitude that she has to life. Plus, she's very obstinate, stubborn and, frankly, a bit bullheaded.
Sala plays music of the post-rock genre, and she has great stage presence. Sala is the one who writes the songs that SHIEND performs, and she writes songs that are deep and full of feelings, that makes it feel as if one stands on a great field, and ones emotions getting called out. The music is both cold and warm, gentle and harsh, and it's raw and passionate, while her songs are vast and lonely. Part of the reasons is because she knows the feeling of losing a part of yourself, and that of needing to change your whole life due to a tragic incident..

Rockstar Persona: Like many others, Sala was a child with big dreams, who dreamed of fame and fortune. She comes from a family a little below middle class, and she had a vaguely rough-and-toumble life, where she got into trouble now and then while she learned to play guitar and base and practiced her singing by way of friends, until she got an illness that turned her blind. It made her think over her life and how she had lived up until then, and she turned a new leaf, becoming more caring and observant concerning others and their well-being.

 

Despite being blind, she got a career in music thanks to her prodigial musical abilities, and to make it look better, she uses her walking stick as a cool cane prop instead of only as a walking stick. It's a cool gimmick people know her for, really. Not that she needs it on the stage, she can still be up there without a problem, and she's gotten known to be a great artist despite her loss of eyesight.

Ideal CR: I'd be good with any kind, really. Sala is friendly and can make do with what she gets, after all. She doesn't even mind people who dislikes her, she'll manage one way or ther other, and take it in stride. Either way, she'll think of the other band members as family, even if she gets to bicker with them, tease them, or get along with them.
